It is stamped 550C however the info I have is there were straight 550s 550A and 550B then JD jumped to the 550G. The dozer is a straight 550 made in 1981 based on the tag.
What is your complete serial number? You may have a 550 C where the C means a 550 with a 6405 (6 way inside mount hydraulic) blade.1999 John Deere 550G Crawler Dozer.
